Scienceworks (Museums Victoria)

A hands-on science museum in Spotswood with interactive exhibitions, live demonstrations, sports and technology experiences and the Melbourne Planetarium. The current Glow Show explores fluorescence, including glowing animals; this separately ticketed Lightning Theatre show is recommended for ages five and over. Ground Up gives babies to five-year-olds a dedicated sensory and construction-play gallery, while older children have plenty of broader science content. Think Ahead includes transport and technology objects such as a scale model Qantas Boeing 707. In Sportsworks, children can try running, rowing and goalkeeping challenges, explore a snowboarding simulator and investigate how their bodies work during sport.
